What is uptime monitoring?
Uptime monitoring checks your website, API or server at regular intervals — every 30 seconds with OKStatus — and alerts you as soon as it stops responding or becomes too slow. You find out about an outage before your customers do.
How does OKStatus confirm that my site is really down?
Each monitor is checked from several regions — two on the Free plan, up to five on Max and Enterprise. An outage is only confirmed when a majority of them fail, which avoids false alerts caused by a single network glitch.
Where is my monitoring data stored?
In the European Union only. OKStatus is built, hosted and operated in Europe, with its control plane in Paris. No data is transferred outside the EU and the service is not exposed to the US CLOUD Act.
Is OKStatus GDPR compliant?
Yes. OKStatus is GDPR native: bounded data retention, a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) and a public list of sub-processors.
Can I create a status page for my customers?
Yes. Publish a public status page on your own domain, with 90-day history and RSS, so your users can check availability without contacting support.
